The Natural Race Transmission Layer TRAIL Duo Shrug is a separable system — a cropped recycled polyester shell with oversized hood worn over the Skin Layer TRAIL sleeveless top, designed to be used as a complete jacket or separated into an independent upper-body shell when the trail demands maximum freedom or rapid adaptation to changing conditions.
How it works. The Duo Shrug combines the TRAIL shell material — 100% recycled polyester in the signature liquid-finish olive bronze — with a dramatically oversized hood and balloon-volume sleeves. Worn closed, it creates a two-layer protection system at the upper body, with the AERO-BIOMA™ knit of the Shirt beneath managing thermal ventilation while the Shrug handles wind and rain above. Separated, it becomes a standalone statement piece — a sculptural shell for when conditions shift and layers need to change fast.
The architecture of separation. The Shrug is engineered to detach and reattach cleanly — no additional garments required, no disruption to the base layer beneath. On the trail, this means adaptation without stopping: the Shrug comes off as one piece, compresses into a running pack, and returns when the weather demands it. The system remains intact regardless of configuration.
The silhouette. The oversized hood and balloon sleeves are not a stylistic accident — they are a functional decision.
